This exhibit introduced the new Sony PlayStation video games to retail buyers, video game executives, and video game developers at the E3 video game trade show in Los Angeles. In the video game world, where sensory overload is the product, the challenge is to organize and focus this overwhelming anarchy. The concept was a formal circular skeleton surrounded by large stairways – easy to approach, simple to navigate, and exciting to be in for the 100,000 attendees that visited over three days. While excitement may not be a direct benefit to video game users, it is what drives the industry. This exhibit provided that and more; users were able to easily find the games and the theatricality of the design communicated more than demos alone could have.

Jury Comment
"This is an experience that – like the product – is totally sensory. The visitor is in an environment that feels like a video game. The exciting use of colors, materials, and media make this exhibition a visual and emotional wonderland featuring exceptional use of relatively simple materials in very creative and interpretive ways. Grand use of lighting creates emotion and environmental character. You feel the product and its potential all around you."
